The call for abstracts is now closed. We extend our gratitude to the over 250 individuals who submitted their abstracts. We appreciate your enthusiastic participation.

Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the Scientific Committee will determine whether the abstract will be accepted. Notifications regarding outcomes of the abstract review will be on 13 March 2024. Accepted abstracts will be presented in the form of a poster presentation and published in the home Journal of EUNOS, Neuro-Ophthalmology which is indexed on pubmed. The best abstracts and the best abstracts from the Young investigators will be invited to also present their abstract in a Rapid fire poster presentation session (2 minute oral presentation) or the Young investigators session. Submitters will be notified about this during the notification process.

Topics for abstracts and poster presentation:

EUNOS 2024 is accepting abstracts on the following topics.

  • General neuro-ophthalmology: A dedicated session highlighting the contributions and expertise from European researchers and clinicians in the field of neuro-ophthalmology.
  • Novel tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in neuro-ophthalmology: This session focuses on the introduction and application of novel diagnostic tools that aid in the evaluation and diagnosis of neuro-ophthalmic conditions. Participants will gain insights into cutting-edge technologies and their potential impact on clinical practice.
  • Hot research topics in neuro-ophthalmology: A dynamic session where researchers present concise summaries of their poster presentations. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of research projects covering various aspects of neuro-ophthalmology.
  • Young investigator: Recognising the talent and potential of young researchers, this session provides a platform for early-career scientists to present their innovative findings and contribute to the field of neuro-ophthalmology. For the purpose of this session, those 35 years of age or younger are considered young investigators.
  • Optic neuritis and optic neuropathies: Delving into the complexities of optic neuritis, this session explores its diagnostic criteria, recent advancements in understanding its pathogenesis, and emerging treatment strategies. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the diagnosis, classification and management of this vision-threatening condition on the background of a broad differential diagnosis.
  • Treatments in neuro-ophthalmology: This session highlights the latest therapeutic approaches and advancements in the management of neuro-ophthalmic disorders. Experts will share their experiences and discuss emerging treatments, providing attendees with valuable knowledge to enhance patient care..
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) in neuro-ophthalmology: Focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence in neuro-ophthalmology, this session explores the potential applications of AI algorithms in diagnostic imaging, risk assessment, and treatment decision-making. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the evolving role of AI in improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes as relevant for clinical trials.
  • Ongoing Trials in neuro-ophthalmology: This session sheds light on ongoing clinical trials and research studies investigating various aspects of neuro-ophthalmology. Attendees will learn about the latest developments in therapeutic interventions and gain insights into future treatment directions.
  • Higher cortical visual functions: Exploring the intricate workings of the higher cortical visual system, this session covers topics related to visual perception, cognition, and their impact on visual function. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of higher cortical visual processing.
  • Pediatric neuro-onphthalmology: Addressing the unique challenges of neuro-ophthalmic conditions in pediatric patients with neuro-oncological disorders, this session highlights recent advances in diagnosis, treatment, and multidisciplinary management strategies.
